The port of Dubai is looking to increase the number of cruise visitors by attracting more cruise ships to the area in 2009-10. Costa Cruises already has a five year deal in place and, having had success in the last year with one ship, will add a second for 2008-09. Money is there to be spent on the cruise infrastructure of Dubai and, because of the increase in demand, a second cruise terminal is planned for next year according to a spokesman for Dubai Tourism. It is estimated that the port of Dubai will welcome 120,000 cruise visitors during 2007-08.
